Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort
- Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and safety
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in Maine (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and any required pre-employment screenings
- Recent experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude toward residents
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (flu, TB screening, etc.)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care standards
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
- Ability to follow care plans and document interventions clearly
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and team members
- Comfort with lifting/assisting residents using safe body mechanics
