Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor vital signs, document changes, and report concerns promptly
- Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver excellent care
- Support residents with activities of daily living while preserving dignity
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation in the facility charting system
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to keep everyone safe
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in New Mexico or compact/state-appropriate license
- Recent clinical experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar is preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background checks
- Dependable, patient-centered attitude and good communication skills
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma or vocational nursing certificate
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation
- Wound care basics and vital sign assessment
- Charting in electronic medical records or paper charting systems
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Patient and family communication with empathy and clarity
