Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and comfort measures with dignity
• Document care accurately and timely in patient records per facility policy
• Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-registered) or eligible to be certified in Maine
• Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Minimum basic experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred (1+ year is a plus)
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and have up-to-date immunizations/TB screening
• Reliable, patient-focused, with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (standing, lifting, assisting patients)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed CNA training program and active/state-recognized CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care techniques
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to follow care plans and report observations clearly
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
