Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and use assistive devices to prevent falls
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Create a warm, welcoming environment to promote resident comfort and well-being
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid for practice in Maine or ability to obtain prior to shift
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Positive background check and up-to-date immunizations as required
- Reliable transportation to Pine Point Center in Scarborough, ME
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs, bathing, grooming, and toileting assistance
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Basic charting and care documentation
- Ability to observe and report resident condition changes
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience when working with older adults
