Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility and ambulation to promote independence
• Support hygiene and grooming needs while preserving resident dignity
• Document care, observations and interventions promptly and clearly
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver consistent, person-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families and team members to ensure excellent care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in Maine (required)
• Completion of an approved CNA training program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements (immunizations, TB screening)
• Comfort with lifting and assisting residents; ability to stand and walk during shift
• Reliable, punctual, and available to work the scheduled date 12/25/2025
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs including bathing, dressing and toileting
• Accurate vital sign measurement and resident observation
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Teamwork and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
• Time management to ensure timely, prioritized resident care
• Familiarity with long-term care resident needs and routines
