Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Document care activities and observations clearly and timely in resident charts
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and family members to support resident needs
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in Maine (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (e.g., TB test)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, and a kind, patient demeanor
- Previous experience in long term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
- Infection control practices and patient safety awareness
- Comfortable with routine caregiving tasks and safe patient handling
- Good observational skills and the ability to communicate changes promptly
