Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers, mobility and positioning following care plans
- Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families and the care team
- Document care accurately and promptly in resident records
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Current CNA certification (vocational training or state registry required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing changes in condition
- Good documentation practices and ability to follow care plans
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach
