Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams while providing compassionate patient care
• Operate imaging equipment safely and accurately, and assist with CT imaging when requested
• Ensure images meet diagnostic standards and route studies through PACS or departmental workflows
• Document procedures, patient history, and pertinent findings clearly and professionally
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, follow infection control protocols, and report malfunctions promptly
• Adhere to radiation safety and departmental policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or relevant ultrasound certification preferred
• ARRT certification in Radiography or equivalent may be acceptable depending on facility requirements
• Current Alaska state licensure or ability to obtain state licensure
• BLS certification required or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Experience in diagnostic ultrasound and radiology; CT experience preferred
• Strong patient care skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small community hospital

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ultrasound imaging and patient positioning
• Familiarity with CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy preferred
• Comfortable using PACS and basic imaging software
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and infection control
• Good communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in a busy imaging environment
