Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer IV medications and infusion therapies safely and compassionately following hospital and INS standards
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusions to monitor response and ensure comfort
• Coordinate scheduling, manage prior authorizations, and support clinical order review to keep the infusion center running smoothly
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, expected side effects, and at-home care
• Document all care, medication administration, and transfusion records accurately in the EHR
• Communicate effectively with providers, payers, and care teams to support coordinated care
• Participate in quality and compliance activities to uphold hospital policies and patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved RN School of Nursing
• BSN required
• Minimum of two years RN experience required
• Current Vermont RN license or multi-state compact RN license
• Current BLS (American Heart Association)
• Infusion and port experience required; CRNI certification preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with EHR documentation

Education

• BSN required
• Graduate of an approved RN School of Nursing

• Infusion therapy and IV medication administration expertise
• Port access and maintenance experience
• Patient assessment and medication administration skills
• Thorough electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Clinical order review and prior authorization processes
• Patient education, communication with payers, and scheduling coordination
• Understanding of transfusion documentation and compliance standards
