Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med-Tele and acute care for patients across Med-Tele, Observation, and Swing Bed settings
• Perform and interpret telemetry strips independently to ensure timely patient interventions
• Initiate IVs, insert NG tubes and Foley catheters, and manage routine acute-care procedures
• Set up and troubleshoot respiratory support devices including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and participate on the unit code team when needed
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care for common diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, and GI bleed
• Document thoroughly in Meditech and use Mindray monitors for continuous patient monitoring

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license for the state of practice (ability to obtain ND license prior to start)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in Medical or Telemetry settings
• Strong competence with IV starts, telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation, NG and Foley insertion
• Comfortable setting up and managing BiPAP, CPAP and HFNC therapies
• Previous travel experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to work within a 50-mile radius rule and meet required RTO timeframe

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Med-Tele nursing practices and acute care workflows
• Telemetry monitoring and Mindray monitor operation
• Electronic charting experience, preferably Meditech
• Skills in IV therapy, NG tube and Foley insertion
• Ability to troubleshoot respiratory equipment and support RT interventions
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and teamwork skills
