Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized plans of care that improve patient function and independence
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately and timely in Epic
• Deliver hands-on skilled interventions including gait training, transfers, therapeutic exercise, and modalities
• Provide specialized care across settings: outpatient, acute care, and SNF as needed
• Manage wound care, lymphedema, and pelvic floor interventions when indicated
• Monitor vital signs and perform strength and pain assessments to guide safe treatment progression
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Alaska Physical Therapy license (AK License) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical physical therapy experience
• Comfortable charting in Epic and working across outpatient, inpatient, and SNF environments
• Able and willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
• First-time travel clinicians are welcome; local candidates are not accepted (permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment, documentation, plan of care development, and reassessments
• Proficient with gait training, transfers, adaptive equipment, and Hoyer/bed alarms use
• Experience with wound care, lymphedema management, pelvic floor training, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and neurology
• Familiar with modalities such as TENS, ultrasound, e-stim, cryotherapy and traction techniques
• Strong hands-on skills: strength testing, pain assessment, skin integrity evaluation, and functional mobility training
• Ability to teach and develop effective home exercise programs and provide family education
