Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in accurate medication preparation and labeling to ensure patient safety
- Perform broad technical medication support functions under pharmacist supervision
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile medication doses per protocol when assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation and assist with inventory control and restocking
- Follow established safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures, including HIPAA
- Communicate clearly with pharmacists and clinical staff to support optimal drug therapy
- Complete required pre-employment and ongoing screenings and trainings
Qualifications
- Current unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License required upon submission
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician course preferred
- Sterile compounding experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively under pharmacist supervision and as part of a team
- Required pre-employment drug screen
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Pharmacy operations and medication preparation fundamentals
- Medication labeling best practices and attention to detail
- Technical medication support tasks and pharmacy technician workflows
- Sterile compounding principles (preferred) and infection control
- Basic inventory management and pharmacy software familiarity
- Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
