Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan — from neonates to geriatrics
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating care and leading the team
- Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage arrhythmias promptly
- Manage ventilated patients and provide advanced respiratory support as needed
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and continuous IV sedation safely
- Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage IV therapies
- Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response/team-based care
- Document all patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary services to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Active RN license valid for practice in Alaska (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (ER experience and previous charge experience required)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- TNCC preferred
- Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Non-local requirement: permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Traveler must provide valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to operate provided vehicle
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure (ASN/BSN or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and charge nurse leadership
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- IV therapy, starting/maintaining IVs and phlebotomy
- Ventilator management and respiratory care for ventilated patients
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Strong emergency response skills and ability to work in a high-acuity setting
- Proficient charting in Epic
