Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral catheterization procedures
• Monitor patients during procedural sedation and manage airway/ventilator needs as required
• Administer IV therapy, vasoactive medications, and blood products with careful documentation
• Operate under radiation safety protocols and support fluoroscopy-guided interventions
• Support implantation and management of devices such as pacemakers, AICDs, IABP, and Impella when applicable
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care and accurate Epic charting
• Recognize and intervene for cardiac dysrhythmias and other procedural complications
• Maintain vascular access including central lines, PICCs, sheath removal and vascular closure systems

Qualifications

• Active RN license or pending state license (facility will consider pending status)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Cath Lab / cardiac procedural nursing experience
• Required certifications: ARRT, Fluoro permit (or have applied for permit at time of submission), BLS, ACLS
• RCIS only is not acceptable as sole credential
• Comfortable with Epic charting or similar EHR
• Willingness to work required call and rotating weekend coverage
• Locals accepted; first-time travelers welcomed

Education

• Active RN licensure (or pending state license eligible)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
• Angioplasty and stent placement techniques and follow up care
• Monitoring and management of procedural sedation and hemodynamics
• Central venous access and management of PICC lines and implanted ports
• Vascular procedures, sheath removal, and vascular closure systems
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and 12-lead ECGs
• Radiation safety and fluoroscopy support
• Experience with Epic charting and interdisciplinary communication
