Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered physical therapy evaluation and treatment to maximize function and independence
• Design and implement individualized care plans based on clinical assessment and goals
• Communicate progress, changes and outcomes with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members
• Document thoroughly and timely in the facility EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Coach patients and caregivers on safe mobility, transfers and fall prevention strategies
• Collaborate with a fun and innovative therapy team to improve overall program outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license in New Mexico or eligible for state licensure
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Comfortable working in a skilled nursing / rehab facility setting
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude
• Previous experience in inpatient or post-acute rehab is a plus

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy accepted where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and mobility training
• Knowledge of documentation standards and outcome measures
• Ability to assess and progress patients safely and effectively
• Strong clinical reasoning and patient education skills
• Team-oriented approach and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

This is a 13-week assignment in Rio Rancho, just north of Albuquerque and about an hour from Santa Fe. Explore the Sandia Mountains and take the Sandia Peak Tram for amazing views, wander historic Old Town Albuquerque for food and culture, visit the Albuquerque Biological Park, or catch local art and galleries in Santa Fe.
