Shift Type: 3x12 Day shifts (three 12-hour day shifts per week). Start times vary: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM or 09:00 AM - 09:30 PM. Includes every-third weekend coverage and limited on-call coverage for call-offs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing as a scrub and/or circulating RN in the Operating Room
• Perform Epic charting and accurate documentation for surgical patients and procedures
• Administer blood and blood products following hospital policy and monitoring protocols
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond appropriately to intraoperative changes
• Start peripheral IVs, manage lines and ensure specimen handling and labeling accuracy
• Follow Universal Protocol (time out) and strict infection control standards every case
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float within scope to support like units as needed to meet facility demands

Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required for Auto Offer (pending accepted but license in hand required for auto-offer)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience (trauma Level II experience required/preferred)
• Travel nursing experience preferred/required
• BLS required; ACLS and CNOR highly preferred
• Current Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to work a 3x12 day schedule and rotating every-third weekend coverage
• Good clinical judgment, strong teamwork skills, and professional communication

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room nursing: scrub and circulating skills across multiple specialties
• Epic electronic charting and perioperative documentation
• Cardiac monitoring and conscious sedation monitoring
• Administration and monitoring of blood & blood products
• Starting peripheral IVs and specimen handling/labeling
• Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and strict infection control practices
• Experience with vascular cases, robotics (Da Vinci Xi, Mazor Robot) and a wide range of surgical procedures
• Wound management, catheterization, and emergency/code response familiarity
