Shift Type: Variable days (3x12 day shifts per week, schedule varies; includes every third weekend). Day shifts with start times either 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care as a scrub or circulator in the OR for a wide range of surgical specialties
• Maintain sterile technique and enforce Universal Protocol time outs to keep patients safe
• Administer and monitor blood and blood products and provide continuous cardiac monitoring
• Start peripheral IVs and manage urinary catheterization and wound care when needed
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in Epic to support continuity and billing
• Support code response and emergency management when called to assist
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Operate and assist with advanced equipment including Da Vinci Xi and Mazor robotics when indicated

Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license in hand for Auto Offer (AK RN required); pending accepted for submittal but license required for immediate offer
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience; travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and CNOR strongly preferred
• Experience charting in Epic
• Comfort scrubbing and circulating across multiple specialties (vascular, ortho, neuro, gyn, urology, pediatrics, etc.)
• Willing and able to float within scope when needed and take limited call coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Scrub and circulate with excellent sterile technique
• Administration of blood and blood products and specimen handling
• Cardiac monitoring and conscious sedation monitoring
• Starting peripheral IVs and urinary catheterization
• Universal Protocol (time out) and strong infection control practices
• Wound management and post-op care
• Code response and emergency management
• Familiarity with Epic and specialty equipment like Da Vinci Xi and Mazor Robot
• Experience across vascular, trauma, orthopedic, neurosurgery, gynecology, urology and pediatric cases
