Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (rotation varies), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Schedule includes weekends (minimum every other weekend; may exceed). Night shifts; may be required to float to like units and Providence Mission Laguna as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill adult and geriatric patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Provide advanced ventilator care and manage high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP and CPAP patients
• Start and maintain IVs, manage central lines, arterial lines and PICCs safely
• Administer blood products, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Participate in rapid response and emergency cardiac monitoring and resuscitation efforts
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — respiratory therapy, PT, pharmacy and social services — to optimize patient outcomes
• Document accurately and promptly in Epic to maintain continuity of care and compliance
• Float to like units as needed and support overall unit staffing to ensure safe patient ratios

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience; first-time travel nurses are welcome
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Comfortable caring for high-acuity patients and titrating vasoactive drips
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs, including occasional assignment to Providence Mission Laguna
• Must include requested RTO restrictions at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and ABG interpretation
• Arterial line, central line and PICC care and management
• Blood product administration and IV therapy skills
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips; continuous IV sedation
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Experience with stroke care, neurological monitoring (EVD/ICP) and post-neurosurgery care preferred
• Exposure to advanced cardiac support (ECMO, IABP, post-cardiac surgery) is a plus
