Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week — 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; includes weekends (minimum every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for adults and geriatrics in the ICU
• Manage ventilated patients and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips safely
• Perform arterial line, central line, and PICC care and monitoring with precision
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to emergent changes
• Administer blood products and continuous IV therapies while following protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, social services) to optimize patient outcomes
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate changes of condition during handoffs
• Float to other units within scope, including occasional coverage at Providence Mission Laguna

Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required; NIHSS required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Comfort with night shifts and weekend coverage requirements
• Additional certifications preferred: CPI, MAB, chemotherapy administration, trauma experience

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and care of the ventilated patient
• Arterial line and central/PICC line management
• IV therapy, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
• ABG interpretation and titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
• Experience in Neuro and Surgical ICU care, including EVD and ICP monitoring (preferred)
• Familiarity with ECMO, IABP, post-cardiac surgery care (preferred)
• Strong infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy skills
