Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams across vascular and obstetric (all three trimesters) studies with accuracy and compassion
• Operate and maintain Toshiba and Phillips ultrasound equipment and ensure image quality for diagnostic review
• Document exam findings and chart thoroughly in EPIC/EpicCare and send studies to Fuji PACS
• Collaborate with radiologists and the clinical team to prioritize patient care and expedite critical results
• Manage a typical daily volume of 10-15 studies while maintaining high standards of patient communication and comfort
• Respond to on-call requests after hours and on weekends as scheduled to support emergent imaging needs
• Follow department protocols and safety procedures, including not starting IVs when not required

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required (RDMS, RDCS-AE, or RVT as appropriate); RVS through CCI noted as acceptable
• BLS (AHA) certification required prior to start
• RDCS-AE (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Adult Echocardiography) and RVT credentials highly desired per unit requirements
• Minimum 1 year of sonography experience (general ultrasound, OB and vascular required)
• Comfortable using EPIC (EpicCare) and Fuji PACS for charting and image transfer
• Valid driver's license required (radius requirement: clinicians must be able to work within a 60-mile radius)

Education

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical training
• ARDMS certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in general ultrasound, vascular ultrasound, and obstetric ultrasound across all trimesters
• Experience with EPIC/EpicCare charting and Fuji PACS workflow
• Familiarity operating Toshiba and Phillips ultrasound systems (experience with other vendors is a plus)
• Strong patient communication and positioning skills for efficient, high-quality scans
• Ability to manage 10-15 studies per day while maintaining accuracy and empathy
• Comfortable with on-call/standby responsibilities and escalation to radiologists
