Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform portable X-rays and departmental X-rays accurately and compassionately for patients in the ED and inpatient units
- Operate and maintain radiography equipment (GE, Siemens, Shimadzu) following radiation safety protocols
- Collaborate with other X-ray techs and staff to ensure safe, timely imaging and excellent patient care
- Use EPIC and McKesson PACS to document studies and manage images efficiently
- Maintain patient confidentiality and infection control standards while delivering high-quality imaging
- Communicate findings and patient needs clearly with radiologists, nurses, and transport teams
Qualifications
- WA State Department of Health imaging license in hand (must-have)
- ARRT registered (Certified Radiologic Technologist) — verification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Radiation badge required (traveler/employer responsibility; facility will not provide)
- Minimum 2 years radiologic technologist experience (department indicates 2 years)
- Comfortable working in fast-paced hospital settings; ED and portable X-ray experience preferred
- Note: Candidates may not have been FT, PT, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year
Knowledge & Skills
- Portable X-ray technique and patient positioning
- Proficiency with EPIC and McKesson PACS
- Experience with GE, Siemens, and Shimadzu imaging equipment
- Strong radiation safety practices and use of radiation monitoring
- Ability to manage 20-50 studies per day with attention to quality
- Good communication and teamwork in a multi-shift radiology department
