Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for each case
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, anticipating needs, and maintaining the sterile field
• Support procedures across General, OBGYN, Orthopedics and pediatric cases with professionalism and care
• Document case activity and patient information accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and OR team to maintain efficient case flow and patient safety
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of practice
• Respond to on-call requests for weekend and holiday coverage when scheduled

Qualifications

• BLS certification (required)
• North Dakota UAP certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of OR/Surgical Tech experience with exposure to General, OBGYN, and Orthopedics
• Comfort working with both adult and pediatric patients
• Familiarity with Meditech charting is preferred/expected
• Strong teamwork, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• A solid grasp of sterile technique and OR safety protocols
• Knowledge of common instrument sets and procedure-specific supplies for General, OBGYN, and Ortho cases
• Ability to assist multiple case types including pediatric cases
• Proven teamwork and communication skills in a surgical setting
• Basic electronic charting skills (Meditech experience helpful)
• Dependability for scheduled shifts and on-call coverage
