Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and provide high-quality emergency care for patients of all ages
• Stabilize critical cardiac and trauma patients with decisive, evidence-based interventions
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, specialists and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Lead or support resuscitation and code responses when needed
• Document patient status, interventions and communications clearly and timely in the EHR
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up plans with compassion
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS required
• ACLS required
• TNCC required
• PALS required
• CEN preferred
• Comfortable caring for emergent and critical cardiac and trauma patients, including children
• Strong communication, teamwork and clinical judgment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency patient assessment and triage
• Critical cardiac care and trauma management
• Pediatric emergency care principles
• Airway management, IV therapy and medication administration
• Electronic health record documentation
• Calm, efficient decision making in high-pressure situations
• Patient and family education with empathy and clarity
