Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a high-quality team
- Assess and monitor patient condition, identify changes, and escalate concerns quickly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document care in the EHR
- Provide rapid, evidence-based response in emergencies using BLS and ACLS
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create and execute care plans
- Support unit needs by floating to additional nursing departments based on census
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold regulatory and facility standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS and TNCC are preferred (nice-to-have)
- Comfortable working Fri–Sun and rotating day/night 12-hour shifts
- Ability to float to other departments as needed and adapt to changing patient volumes
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred
- Current Iowa RN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Proficient in cardiac life support protocols (BLS/ACLS)
- Familiarity with pediatric (PALS) and trauma (TNCC) concepts a plus
- IV therapy, medication administration, and safe documentation practices
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management under pressure
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
