Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a high-quality team
• Assess and monitor patient condition, identify changes, and escalate concerns quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care in the EHR
• Provide rapid, evidence-based response in emergencies using BLS and ACLS
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create and execute care plans
• Support unit needs by floating to additional nursing departments based on census
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold regulatory and facility standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS and TNCC are preferred (nice-to-have)
• Comfortable working Fri–Sun and rotating day/night 12-hour shifts
• Ability to float to other departments as needed and adapt to changing patient volumes

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred
• Current Iowa RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Proficient in cardiac life support protocols (BLS/ACLS)
• Familiarity with pediatric (PALS) and trauma (TNCC) concepts a plus
• IV therapy, medication administration, and safe documentation practices
• Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management under pressure
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
