Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on patient care to adults recovering from surgery and acute illness
• Assist registered nurses with clinical tasks while maintaining patient dignity and comfort
• Perform vital signs, patient hygiene, ambulation assistance, and basic wound care as directed
• Document patient observations accurately in the medical record and communicate changes promptly
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to keep patients and colleagues safe
• Support the multidisciplinary care team with timely, clear communication
• Help create a healing environment by responding to patient needs with empathy and professionalism

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon CNA Level 1 or Level 2 certification required (CNA Level 2 preferred)
• Healthcare Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• One year of experience in a hospital setting preferred
• Ability to pass facility screening and background checks
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• State-approved CNA training program completion and active Oregon CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and medical-surgical care basics
• Vital signs measurement and basic assessment recognition
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs, mobility, and hygiene tasks
• Basic documentation in an electronic health record or charting system
• Team communication, time management, and prioritization
