Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and sterile field for a variety of cases including trauma, ortho, vascular, and general surgery
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and anticipating needs during procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure surgical instrumentation is properly processed
• Perform setup, breakdown, and accurate specimen handling and labeling
• Document intraoperative care and case details accurately in Cerner
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide professional coverage for assigned shifts

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR surgical technologist experience preferred
• Comfortable with trauma and high-acuity cases
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends and scheduled call
• Current healthcare provider licensure/credentials as required by facility

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent
• CST certification (NBSTSA) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR instrumentation
• Experience across trauma, orthopedic, vascular and general surgery cases
• Proficiency with Cerner charting is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure settings
• Detail-oriented with strong time management during case flow
