Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead daily clinic operations as the charge/manager on shift, coordinating staff and patient flow
• Administer medications and vaccines safely, including IM, SQ and oral routes
• Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and provide IV therapy as needed
• Monitor vital signs, perform cardiac monitoring and obtain 12-lead EKGs
• Triage telephone calls, handle refill requests, and coordinate pharmacy communications
• Document thoroughly in Epic and ensure accurate labeling of specimens and medication reconciliation
• Support patient education, conduct pain assessments, and follow up on care plans
• De-escalate challenging situations and ensure a calm, safe environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active State nursing license required (California RN expected based on location)
• Minimum 2 years charge/manager experience in an outpatient or similar setting
• BLS required
• IV certification required (experience starting and maintaining IVs)
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs and flexible scheduling readiness
• Pending license not accepted; local candidates welcomed

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Epic charting and electronic documentation
• Medication administration and vaccine delivery (IM, SQ, oral)
• IV therapy, phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
• Vital sign monitoring and cardiac monitoring (12-lead EKG)
• Telephone triage, patient follow-up and care coordination
• Specimen labeling, medication reconciliation and pharmacy communication
• De-escalation techniques and strong patient communication skills
• Outpatient clinic workflow and staff supervision
