Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, histories, medications, and allergy information
• Assist ENT providers with in-office procedures, maintaining meticulous aseptic technique
• Scribe and document patient encounters using Epic, ensuring clear and timely charting
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing (urine dipstick, labeling specimens)
• Provide telephone triage and follow-up calls to support patient continuity of care
• Prepare exam rooms, set up sterile trays, and manage supplies so clinics run smoothly
• Support patient scheduling, authorization forms, pharmacy refill coordination, and basic office duties
• Assist with injections and specimen handling within scope of practice, under provider direction

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience working as a Medical Assistant (MA) — ENT experience is REQUIRED
• MA-C preferred; MA-R considered if you have prior clinical experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Proven experience charting in Epic (experience required)
• Comfortable assisting with dermatology/ENT procedures (biopsy, dressing changes, sutures)
• Reliable transportation required (facility requests NOT public transit for travel between sites)
• Ability to float between clinic locations and work a Monday–Thursday schedule

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; MA certification preferred (MA-C, CMA, or RMA preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical terminology and patient care fundamentals
• Aseptic technique and sterile tray setup
• Rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and suture removal assistance
• Epic EMR proficiency and strong computer/typing skills for scribing
• Telephone triage, authorization forms, scheduling, and pharmacy communication
• Specimen collection, urine dipstick/urinalysis, and basic lab test workflow
• Injections (intradermal, intramuscular) and assisting with minor procedures
