Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, height and weight with warmth and accuracy
- Chart in Epic promptly and accurately to keep patient records current
- Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments and assist with procedures when needed
- Collect, label and process specimens following clinic protocols
- Perform wound care and assist with suture removal in a professional manner
- Manage telephone triage and follow-up phone calls to support continuity of care
- Handle scheduling, insurance verification and authorization forms to keep visits flowing
- Stock supplies and maintain an organized clinic environment for efficient patient care
- Support orthopedic outpatient workflows including preparation for exams and recording history/medications/allergies
- Perform nasal swabs and other clinic-specific tasks as required
Qualifications
- BLS certification (required)
- Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI (required)
- Minimum 1 year of medical assistant experience (required)
- Epic charting experience (required)
- CMAS preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions per facility guideline); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Pending licenses not accepted; local candidates accepted
- First-timers not accepted — we’re looking for at least 1 year of hands-on clinic experience
Education
- Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR national MA certification (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, MMCI)
