Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Assist nurses and providers with assessments, interventions, and urgent needs
• Monitor and report patient status changes, including vitals and mental health concerns
• Support critical cardiac and trauma care workflows under supervision
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
• Ensure infection control, patient safety, and respectful patient handling at all times

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon CNA certification (required)
• Healthcare provider-level BLS certification (required upon hire)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced emergency department that cares for all ages
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to follow protocols for critical cardiac and trauma patients

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current Oregon CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe patient handling
• Familiarity with emergency medical conditions and urgent/mental health presentations
• Basic cardiac and trauma care support principles
• Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical assessment
• Teamwork, situational awareness, and clear clinical communication
• Basic electronic charting / documentation skills
