Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging for extremities, head/neck, vascular, cardiac, TAVR studies and runoffs
- Operate and troubleshoot Toshiba/Canon and Philips CT scanners and follow department protocols
- Start IVs and manage patient prep for contrast-enhanced studies with care and accuracy
- Assist with fluoroscopy in IR cases including drain placements, biopsies, cryo ablation and abscess drainage
- Collaborate with ED teams to handle a heavy emergency volume (about 60% ED scans across campuses)
- Document studies accurately while coordinating with a scanning partner to keep throughput efficient
- Communicate effectively with radiologists (in-house 7:00–22:00; on-call after hours) to ensure diagnostic quality
Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- BLS certification required
- State licensure appropriate for Arizona
- Minimum 2 years CT technologist experience (TAVR CT experience required; coronary CT helpful)
- Comfortable and competent starting IVs
- Previous acute/ED imaging experience highly preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, variable start times and occasional weekend coverage
Education
- Associate degree or radiologic technologist certificate preferred; ARRT certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Change Healthcare / Cerner charting systems and PACS workflows
- Familiarity with Terarecon for cardiac post-processing workflows
- Skilled in CT protocols for trauma, vascular and cardiac imaging
- Experience assisting in IR procedures and image-guided biopsies
- Strong patient communication, infection control, and radiation safety practices
