Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Monitor and respond to changes in hemodynamic status and clinical condition quickly and accurately
• Administer medications and therapies according to physician orders and unit protocols
• Communicate critical findings and changes to physicians and multidisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans with compassion and clarity
• Supervise and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and documentation in MEPIC EMR

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, critical care experience required
• MEPIC EMR experience required
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, influenza)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills in acute/critical care settings
• Hemodynamic monitoring knowledge and interpretation
• Medication administration and basic pharmacology competence
• Rhythm interpretation and cardiac telemetry familiarity
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proficient documentation skills in MEPIC EMR
