Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the occupational therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans for residents
• Deliver therapeutic exercises and functional training that help residents regain independence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation to ensure quality continuity of care
• Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings and coordinate resident care
• Provide patient and family education to support home programs and safe transitions

Qualifications

• Active California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
• Strong interpersonal and clinical communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a rehab setting and contribute to a positive team culture
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
• Successful completion of COTA certification/licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and rehabilitation techniques
• Skilled in patient-centered care and functional training
• Proficient with clinical documentation and charting best practices
• Ability to educate patients and families in an approachable, clear manner
• Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary team and coordinating care
