Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic CT examinations using GE VCT 64 and GE Revolution 128 scanners
- Operate imaging systems and PACS (McKesson) and document studies in EPIC promptly and accurately
- Maintain radiation safety protocols (radiation badge provided) and follow infection control policies
- Collaborate with ED, OR, Endoscopy and other departments to coordinate timely imaging for patients
- Float to and assist in CT, X‑ray, OR, Endoscopy and ED as needed to support department workflow
- Provide compassionate patient care, including patient positioning, contrast administration, and monitoring
- Participate in call/standby rotations and respond within required response times
- Complete quality control checks, equipment logs, and required documentation
Qualifications
- ARRT-CT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CT (or related) experience
- Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal (used for 50-mile radius verification)
- Must not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility
- Willingness to float to CT, XR, OR, Endoscopy and ED; flexible availability for nights, weekends, holidays
- Adherence to facility policies (example: no artificial nails in patient care areas)
Education
- Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent); ARRT-CT required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience with GE VCT 64 slice and GE Revolution 128 slice CT scanners
- Comfortable using EPIC for charting and McKesson PACS for image review
- Strong patient positioning and cross-sectional imaging skills
- Familiarity with X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology workflows (preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment and handle trauma imaging
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
