Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality image acquisition and fluoroscopic support for interventional radiology procedures
- Prepare patients and equipment for IR procedures, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and radiation safety
- Monitor patients during procedures, communicating findings and concerns to the clinical team
- Accurately document procedures, contrast usage and patient records in the electronic chart
- Collaborate with interventional radiologists, nurses and support staff to deliver efficient, compassionate care
- Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with equipment cleaning and QA tasks
Qualifications
- Current ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification or equivalent
- Active Texas state radiologic technologist license (or eligible to obtain prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology or related vascular/interventional imaging
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Comfortable with fluoroscopy, contrast administration support, and sterile procedural environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced procedural suite
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent (ARTR/ARRT certification required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems (PACS, RIS familiarity a plus)
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
- Skilled in patient positioning for interventional procedures and catheter-based imaging
- Familiarity with sterile technique, contrast media handling, and emergency procedure protocols
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and time-management skills
