Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized respiratory care plans
- Implement, evaluate, and revise therapy plans to meet patient needs
- Perform diagnostic testing including ABGs, PFTs, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, bronchoscopy support, and pulse oximetry
- Manage patient transport within the hospital or between facilities safely and efficiently
- Document care thoroughly in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Provide on-call coverage and flexible support outside standard scheduled hours when needed
Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS required; PALS and NRP listed as applicable
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (assignment lists 2 years)
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred (Epic experience a plus)
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
Education
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in performing and interpreting ABGs and pulmonary function testing
- Skilled with EKGs, cardiac monitoring, and pulse oximetry
- Comfortable assisting with bronchoscopy and other diagnostic procedures
- Strong clinical assessment and care-plan development skills
- Familiarity with Epic or similar EMR systems and accurate documentation practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced acute care setting
