Location: Grand Island, NE

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM). Schedule assigned by unit; weekend requirement every other weekend; holidays as needed. Shift type: rotating (day/night).
Hours per Week: 36 hrs per week
Candidate Pay Rate: $64.67/hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality stepdown/PCU nursing care for patients from young adult to geriatric
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret strips to detect changes early
- Titrate drips safely (Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin) and administer IV medications as ordered
- Perform focused patient assessments and respond to acute changes including STEMI and stroke care
- Manage ventilatory support devices such as BiPAP and high-flow therapies (Airvo)
- Collaborate with CNAs, RTs, charge nurses and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and patient flow
- Lead bedside report, hourly rounding and thorough documentation in EPIC
- Support admissions, discharges and transfers during busy flow periods
Qualifications
- Valid RN license (able to submit for state licensure)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care/stepdown or telemetry nursing experience
- BSN required
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS certification required (for stroke care competency)
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
- Driver's license at time of submittal (radius rule applies)
- Ability to pass orientation pass/fail exam with ≥90% (open-book skills exam)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips
- IV medication administration including IV antibiotics and insulin
- Acute cardiac care (STEMI, CHF, chest pain) and stroke protocols
- Patient assessment and management of multisystem failure
- Ventilatory support knowledge (BiPAP, high-flow devices like Airvo)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-experience focus
