Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team during procedures across Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Robotics, Plastics and Trauma
- Prepare and maintain sterile field and instruments before, during, and after cases
- Set up and troubleshoot surgical instrumentation and robotic equipment as needed
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nursing staff to ensure smooth case flow
- Document instrument counts, specimen handling and case notes in the EMR
- Support patient safety initiatives by adhering to sterile technique and OR protocols
- Participate in on-call rotations and adapt to variable shift lengths when required
Qualifications
- Current CST/ORT certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience (per job data)
- Demonstrated experience in Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Robotics, Plastics and Trauma cases
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Ability to work call shifts and flexible schedules in a 24/7 department
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Meditech electronic medical records
- Expertise in sterile technique and OR instrumentation
- Experience supporting robotic-assisted procedures
- Comfortable with high-acuity trauma and level 1 trauma protocols
- Efficient case setup and instrument organization
- Reliable under pressure with good situational awareness
