Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: two 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM shifts per week plus weekend coverage Friday-Sunday, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (Night)
Hours per Week: 36 hrs per week
Candidate Pay Rate: $33.60/hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Decontaminate surgical instruments and trays following strict infection control protocols
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (Steris, V-Pro, Medivator) to ensure patient-safe instruments
- Assemble instrument sets and trays accurately for OR cases, including trauma procedures
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and verify sterilization records and indicators
- Collaborate with OR staff to prioritize case needs and maintain efficient turnaround times
- Document sterilization cycles and instrumentation in the EMR/charting system as required
- Participate in orientation and preceptor shifts to ensure continuity and competency
Qualifications
- CRCST or CBSPD certification required (per posting)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience, preferably including trauma/level 1 experience
- Comfortable using Steris, V-Pro, and Medivator sterilization systems
- Ability to submit a valid driver's license (radius requirement noted)
- Available to be in-state for the week of orientation and complete 1–2 preceptor shifts
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- CRCST or CBSPD certification required
- BLS (AHA) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of decontamination, sterilization processes, and instrument assembly
- Familiarity with high-level disinfection procedures and sterility indicators
- Experience with Epic or similar inpatient charting systems preferred
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced OR environment
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with surgical teams
