Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients during night shifts
- Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Manage ventilators and titrate vasoactive drips per unit protocols
- Administer medications safely and monitor responses closely
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred or required depending on unit)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience
- Current certifications and immunizations per facility policy (e.g., influenza, TB screening)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment abilities
- Experience with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficiency with infusion pumps and intravenous medication administration
- Accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
- Effective teamwork and clear communication under pressure
- Knowledge of infection control and emergency response protocols
