Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; schedule set by manager, every other weekend required, holidays required (day shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $53.20/hr (candidate pay rate)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to med/surg-telemetry patients including CHF, diabetes, PNA, CKD
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and act quickly on clinical changes
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team members including charge nurses, house supervisors and nurse educators
• Manage respiratory support patients (CPAP/BiPAP/high flow) and escalate care appropriately
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to explain care plans and provide education
• Float to other med/surg units as needed while maintaining standards of care and safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Texas)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (med/surg/telemetry preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and rotate including every other weekend and holidays
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Comfortable reading telemetry strips and caring for patients on CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or Diploma acceptable). BSN not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Medical-surgical nursing principles
• Familiarity with Paragon charting system (unit uses Paragon)
• Ability to titrate and manage respiratory equipment and supportive devices
• Effective teamwork, delegation and critical thinking under pressure
