Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub complex EP cases including ablations, LAAO procedures, and device implantations
- Monitor patients intra-procedurally and support the cardiology team during procedures
- Prepare, set up, and troubleshoot EP lab equipment (Toshiba imaging and related systems)
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper device handling throughout cases
- Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as the team needs
- Respond to on-call requests within the required 30-minute window
- Document procedures and chart in the EMR accurately (McKesson / MEDITECH environment)
- Collaborate with nursing, cath lab techs, and physicians to deliver excellent patient care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of cardiovascular / EP lab experience (electrophysiology experience required)
- Able to scrub ablations, LAAO cases, and device procedures (MUST scrub)
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and ARRT or RCIS (RCIS via CCI verification noted)
- Comfortable floating between campuses and working within an EP lab team
- Able to meet on-call and travel/float requirements as scheduled
Education
- BSN not required
- RCIS credential and formal cardiovascular technologist training preferred/recognized
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on EP lab skills: scrubbing, monitoring, device handling, sterile technique
- Familiarity with EMR and imaging: McKesson, MEDITECH, Toshiba imaging systems
- Experience with procedures such as LHC, RHC, PPM/ICD implants, peripheral angio/PCI, EVAR, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling
- Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to act quickly during call shifts
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced acute care/cath lab environment
