Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense and verify medications accurately and efficiently for inpatient care
• Ensure safe medication preparation and distribution during overnight hours
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the clinical team to optimize therapy
• Provide clinical checks and interventions to prevent medication errors
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital pharmacy policies
• Participate in medication safety initiatives and overnight clinical support

Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license or eligible to obtain licensure in Texas (required)
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (hospital experience preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety during overnight coverage
• Comfortable working independently during night shift with good clinical judgment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or facility-required certifications as requested by the hospital

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and inpatient medication workflows
• Familiarity with medication safety practices and error-prevention techniques
• Experience with automated dispensing systems and electronic medical records
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload during overnight shift demands
