Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide professional, compassionate nursing care to patients on assigned shifts
- Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and document changes accurately
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and communicate updates
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge needs
- Report and escalate clinical concerns promptly to ensure patient safety
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Maine (or compact license where applicable)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; additional certifications a plus
- Previous clinical experience in a similar setting preferred (med-surg, long-term care, or acute care)
- Ability to work the scheduled night shift hours and adapt to fast-paced environments
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program
- RN: Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Comfortable with medication administration and documentation systems
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety protocols
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during busy shifts
- Professional bedside manner and patient-centered approach
