Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that improve quality of life
- Provide evidence-based therapy and document progress clearly and efficiently
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and care teams to coordinate resident-centered care
- Educate residents and families on therapy goals and at-home strategies
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning when appropriate
Qualifications
- State SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Hampshire
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but not required
- Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric populations is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
- Knowledge of evidence-based SLP interventions for adult and geriatric populations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
- Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively
- Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
