Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering hands-on care and therapeutic interventions
- Implement treatment plans and document patient progress accurately
- Provide safe mobility assistance, gait training, and therapeutic exercise supervision
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient goals and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe functional techniques
- Maintain equipment, ensure treatment areas are safe and organized, and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility in New Hampshire
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with adult and geriatric populations in a long-term care or rehab setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous clinical experience preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with therapeutic exercise techniques, gait training, and patient transfers
- Knowledge of documentation standards and basic outcome measures
- Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt interventions under PT supervision
- Good time management and patient prioritization skills
- Comfortable using assistive devices and basic rehab equipment
