Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across a variety of adult and pediatric studies
- Operate ultrasound systems (GE, Philips, Siemens, SonoSite) and capture images that support accurate diagnoses
- Provide portable ultrasound services in Emergency Department and ICU when required
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally to the clinical team and documenting results using the facility charting system
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Prioritize patient comfort and education while delivering timely, compassionate care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and excellent outcomes
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on ultrasound experience (listed in job details)
- ARDMS certification preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- Comfortable performing a wide range of studies including abdominal, vascular, breast, and intraoperative exams
- Experience providing portable/point-of-care imaging in ED or ICU settings a plus
- Proven ability to chart in electronic medical records (any system required)
- Willingness to float between like units and accept occasional weekend assignments
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with GE PACS, Philips, Siemens, and SonoSite systems
- Skilled in General Ultrasound, Abdominal Aorta, Appendix, Biliary Tract, Breast, Gallbladder, Intraoperative imaging, Liver, Lung Biopsy, Pancreas, Pediatric Abdomen/Pelvis, and Spleen exams
- Strong image acquisition and optimization techniques
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
- Ability to work efficiently in high-acuity areas like ED and ICU
