Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Provide safe transfer and mobility support, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
- Support restorative and recreational activities to promote resident engagement and wellbeing
- Communicate compassionately with residents and their families to build trust and provide comfort
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (or eligible to obtain Maryland GNA certification)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Up-to-date TB screening and required immunizations per employer policy
- Background check and drug screening clearance as required
- Reliable transportation to Glade Valley, Walkersville, MD
- Previous long-term care or assisted living experience a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of eldercare best practices and resident rights
- Comfortable with basic vital sign checks and reporting
- Strong communication and compassionate interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and document accurately, including electronic charting familiarity
- Good time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care environment
