Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and compassion
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Provide safe, attentive care while promoting independence and comfort
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (or equivalent) — state certification preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced long-term care or assisted living setting
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/mobility assistance
- Vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Familiarity with infection prevention and resident safety practices
- Reliable documentation and clear communication with nursing staff
