Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, respecting dignity and preferences
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Accurately document care provided and observations in resident records
- Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures consistently
- Work collaboratively with the care team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required by facility)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM shift and performing physical aspects of care
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic caregiving principles and resident-centered care
- Understanding of infection control and safety best practices
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy shifts
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
